I also painted and glazed my railing on my stairs and I think it looks a 1000 times better!

My kitchen cupboards...
I always hated my drab looking cupboards but didn't want to spend the money on new ones... so I painted them and I love them. All they need now is some knobs and they will be good to go! I did one coat of red paint and two coats of chocolate glaze... and boy do I love that glaze. I used it on my fireplace as well!

I thought this poem had a lot to do with what I posted last night. I feel like God answers our prayers always... most of the time it is not in the way we would have wanted, but it is always in the way God feels is best for our progression in life. I have had so many prayers answered in my life, some immediately and most over a period of time, some times even years. But they have all been answered even when the answer was no. It is hard some times to accept the way God does things, but He is ALL knowing and truly is doing things this way so we can learn our lessons and become better people in the process. The key is to actually learn the lesson and not require Him to reteach you later on down the road! I know for me personally I have had to learn the same lessons over and over again and some times it takes learning it multiple times to reach the potential God always intended us to attain! Keep praying, keep believing and keep working towards BEING the soul He KNOWS you already are!

Life... hmmm...
It has been nearly 2 months since my last post and I almost feel like I am starting over! My life got pretty crazy this past May and I feel I have been playing catch up ever since. But the other day I had a ah-ha moment! This past spring I was complaining about NOT having enough time to get everything done... well, God must have heard my complaining and truly wanted to teach me a lesson. Now when I tell you what happened, I do NOT believe this incident happened just for me, but for many others as well including the star of the show.
I got a call just before 6am one morning towards the end of May from my dad. I was barely awake when I answered the phone and soon discovered it was not my dad on the other end of the phone. It was the paramedic who had picked my dad up from his house after he had called 911. Apparently my dad had fallen and had hit his head hard enough to cause a brain hemorrhage. From that moment on until now, life has been a whirlwind of the ER, intensive care, rehab therapy and once released being there to assist my dad wherever needed.
Now back to my ah-ha moment... I realized that although at first I had NO extra time to do ANYTHING for my family or myself I have slowly worked the chaos into my schedule and I now KNOW I had a large amount of time to do all the things I "needed" and wanted to do, I just chose to fill it with things that were not as important as I thought they were. Heavenly Father has his ways of showing you how much abundance you DO have in your life. Some times these lessons do not come in the way you would prefer, but they are lessons nonetheless and I feel I will be a far more organized person in my time from here on out.
I am striving to have a complain free life... NOT because I don't want the lessons... well maybe that's part of it! But more because life feels so much more satisfying when there is less complaining and more compassion, organization and service to others.
My dad is doing much better and each day I am with him I see more and more improvement. I pray every day he will continue to progress in his healing and return to his normal self. Life is so short and it goes by so quickly. It only takes a moment to stop rushing around and enjoy the small things, even if it is taking your dad for a drive around town because he is going stir crazy... or getting on the ground with your baby and crawling around with him... or jumping on the trampoline with your pre-teens and realizing how much work jumping takes these days! Enjoy life!

Little Smokies
I have a new recipe that I absolutely LOVE!
Tim's Little Smokies
1 pkg. little smokies
1 c. brown sugar
3 tbsp. flour
2 tsp. dry mustard
1 c. pineapple juice
1/2 c. white vinegar
2 tsp. soy sauce
Blend sugar, flour and mustard in saucepan. Stir in remaining ingredients, except little smokies. Cook and stir until thick and bubbly. Add sausages and warm. Keep warm in crock pot. Cooks.com
I doubled this recipe for my family of four and there was a little bit left. Maybe enough to serve 2 more people. So if you have a family bigger than 2-3 I would definitely double. Delicious!

Re-stained my Grandma's dresser
Last summer my mom gave me a small dresser that had belonged to my grandma. It looked really bad when I got it and I was not sure what I would do with it. I decided to re-stain it instead of painting it. I had a hard time sanding out a water stain on the top of it, but I did get it mostly out. I wish I had taken a picture of it before hand, but here is the after picture... Oh yeah, I bought new hardware but the bottom drawer is really thick so the screws did not go all the way through. I found one screw in my extras that fit, but I need to go back to Home Depot to find another one. So one hardware is missing...

Affirmations... crazy or what?!?!
I remember the first time I heard of an affirmation... my first thought was CRAZY! Why would anyone repeat something over and over again, hoping it would come true. It did NOT make sense to me. But it did not make sense to me for many reasons, the most important being that I was not open to the idea of attracting anything to myself. I did not think it was possible. In fact I thought anything like that was ludricous... until I thought of the Gospel. For those of you who do not know me I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints or for short I am a "Mormon". The Gospel is built on faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and when I thought about this I began to think how faith in something unseen is similar to affirmations. Now bear with me as I attempt to explain my thoughts!!
The idea of knowing something is there despite not seeing it takes a great deal of faith... and knowing I can attract ANYTHING I want into my life by repeating it over and over again takes a great deal of faith. Heavenly Father is ALL GIVING and all we have to do is ask. When we repeat something over and over again we DO begin to believe we deserve it, therefore we allow it to be given to us by our Father in Heaven. When did we forget that He IS our father and what do fathers want most for their children? He wants us to be happy and to enjoy all the gifts we allow to come into our lives. SO... affirmations are a way to attract those gifts into our lives and realize we DO deserve to be spoiled by our Maker! So affirm away and remember He loves each and every one of us and He wants us to be happy. On a side note, this does NOT mean a person should sit back and repeat affirmations and think their desires will appear out of thin air. We must get out there in the world and become a part of it, by SERVING OTHERS, working and being a part of society. Pay if forward and know that when you serve, YOU will be served as well. KARMA baby!
Some great affirmations:
- I choose a positive frame of mind.
- I have love and support in my life.
- I am a beautiful, out going person who is liked by everyone I meet.
- My body is healthy and fit.
- I attract wealth and abundance into my life at every breathing moment.
These following are from http://hubpages.com/hub/List-Of-Positive-Daily-Affirmations, along with the ending 4 ways to assist in making your affirmations work for you.
- I welcome and am open to receive all abundance that comes into my life.
- I have a bank account with more than enough.
- Everything I do turns into success.
- I attract postive-minded people to me; I draw all things positive to myself.
- I am caring, smart, supportive, positive and fun to be with.
- I am able to take risks and try new things without fear.
- I behave in ways that promote my health more every day.
1. Because your experience will create the conditions that allow affirmations to manifest, word the affirmations carefully to make them crystal-clear. State your real, innermost desires and articulate your most expansive sense of self. Affirmations based on a narrow self-concept deliver results that fall short, cause suffering, and further diminish the sense of self.
2. Be deliberate in your affirmations. Spontaneous thoughts voiced out in an intense emotional state may produce undesirable effects, so consider many possible alternatives before choosing the affirmation to silently intone. Silent affirmations are more effective than spoken statements, because they entail more intensity of concentration and resonate through your entire body instead of in your surroundings.
3. Link your affirmations to actual daily actions to lay the ground for their manifestation. For instance, affirming that you will win the lottery can only be set in motion when you play in it.
4. Find a way to make it easy for you to do positive daily affirmations. You may find that it is not a habit for you to make these statements on a regular basis. To circumvent this problem, I have been using Subliminal Power, a software that sits on my PC, flashing out subliminal affirmations subtlely as I work. I figured this to be a better solution for me than using an audio, since I am on the PC more often and am not in the habit of listening to a music CD.

The Shift - by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer
One of the most amazing movies I have ever watched. So inspiring and uplifting... it is a movie of self reflection and soul searching. It gives a different perspective on what it takes to feel fulfilled and gives you a glimpse into making your own "shift". I can't explain how wonderful this movie is, I just HAVE to recommend it to everyone. It is worth the time to watch and really listen and learn!!!

Walt Disney
Walt Disney was an amazing man who was truly inspired... Here are a few of my favorite quotes.
"The more you like yourself, the less you are like anyone else, which makes you unique."
"All the adversity I've had in my life, all my troubles and obstacles, have strengthened me. . . . You may not realize it when it happens, but a kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you."
"If you can dream it, you can do it. Always remember that this whole thing was started with a dream and a mouse."
"The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing."
"We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we are curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths."

My friend Crystal and Clear Health
Over the years I have slowly come to understand the importance of a healthy lifestyle. I have a dear friend who has shed a lot of light on what has to be done in order to become and stay healthy. Crystal and I have been friends for over 20 years and I trust her with my life! What she has done for me has been priceless!
About 4 years ago I had a pulmonary embolism (multiple blood clots in my lungs) and I had to go on a blood thinning medication called Coumadin. I am so grateful there is medication out there that can assist in the disengration of blood clots, but this medication really messed up my body. In fact I still don't feel normal, but at least I don't feel horrible any more.
During the six months I had to be on this medicine, plus the six months after I got off of it, I felt terrible. My body felt very foreign to me... I got migraines nearly every day, I was sick to my stomach, I started gaining weight, my skin looked horrible and I just felt miserable. I wasn't sleeping very well and I also began to have panic attacks.
About a year after I had been off this medicine I went to see Crystal for a bio-energetic scan. I wish I had gone sooner. She helped me sort out my body signals and got me on a natural remedy of vitamins. I followed her remedy and began to feel like myself again.
Not much later I was "trying" to get pregnant and was not succeeding. So I went to see Crystal again. Once again she put me on a schedule of vitamins and certain natural remedies and within a few months I not only had lost 10 pounds but I was pregnant. I was OVERJOYED!! Now I have an 8 month old baby and I feel better than I have in a long time.
Crystal is an amazing Health Practitioner. She has spent many years studying and practicing bio-energetics and other natural remedies to a healthy life. If you want to learn about natural ways to become and stay healthy contact Crystal at Clear Health in Lindon Utah. She is not only extremely knowledgeable about the health issues bombarding our lives, but she truly is concerned with each and EVERY one of her patients. She WILL do all she can to bring you to the healthy being you know you can be. Here is Clear Healths website and all the information you will need to make your own judgment call.

Haystacks/Italian Chicken
This is one of my absolute favorite meals. It is NOT the healthiest meal as you will see in a moment, but it is so delicious that it is something I break down and make at least once a month... LOVE IT!
HAYSTACKS
5-7 chicken breasts
1/2 cube butter
1/2 bottle of Italian dressing (large bottle)

1/2 bottle of Italian dressing (large bottle)
1 can cream of chicken soup
8 oz. cream cheese
In crock pot combine chicken, soup, butter and dressing. Cook 4-5 hours until it falls apart. Cut up into small pieces (I do this right in the crock pot because it literally falls apart, but you can take the chicken out and do it too). Return to crock pot if the chicken has been removed. Add cream cheese, make sure it is completely mixed with the italian dressing and butter. Cook for 20 minutes more. Serve over rice.

Lasagna
For my first post I wanted to share one of my favorite lasagna recipes. I like it because it is very kid friendly and since I don't like a lot of items added to my lasagna it is very ME friendly!
LASAGNA
Cook over medium or low heat...
1/2-1 lb hamburger or chicken browned (season w/ salt and pepper)
Drain grease from pan
ADD:
8 oz. tomato sauce
8 oz. cream cheese
8 oz. cottage cheese
6 oz. sour cream
Season w/ garlic powder or Creole or w/ just salt and pepper (whatever is preferred)
Boil noodles until soft (usually around 15-20 minutes)
Layer of noodles
Layer of sauce
Layer of noodles
Layer of sauce
ETC until pan is filled
Top w/ cheeses of choice - I usually do the mexican mix cheese and mozarella, but whatever is preferred in your house.
